Calendar Timesheet

Google Calendar hours calculator

Free. Your calendar file is read by your browser and never uploaded: no account, no Google sign-in.

Your totals appear here as soon as a file is read.

The same totals every month, per client, without exporting anything? The free Calendar Timesheet sheet reads your calendars directly, including event colours; Pro adds rates, amounts and month-end statements.

How to export your Google Calendar

    1. On a computer, open Google Calendar. Google's help page notes that the phone app cannot export.
    2. Open Settings, then Import & export, then Export. A .zip with one .ics file per calendar downloads.
    3. Drop that .zip above. There is no need to unzip it. To export a single calendar instead, open its Settings and sharing page and choose Export calendar.

You can export a calendar if you have the "Make changes and manage sharing" permission on it. The export holds the whole history of each calendar; the calculator keeps only the period you choose.

    What the calculator counts

    Questions

    Is my calendar uploaded?

No. The page has no server behind it: your browser opens the file, adds up the durations and shows the result. Nothing is stored or sent, and closing the tab forgets everything. The privacy policy says the same.

Why are there no totals by colour?

Google Calendar's export leaves event colours out, so no tool can read them from the file. Keywords in the title or one calendar per client work instead. Calendar Timesheet reads colours directly from your calendar; the guide how to count hours in Google Calendar per client, colour or week compares the methods.

Can I see the total on my phone?

Google Calendar's export only works on a computer. For a total you can read anywhere, see Can Google Calendar calculate hours worked?

Can I get the list of events in Excel?

The calculator shows totals only. For one line per event in Excel or CSV, follow how to export Google Calendar to Excel or CSV, with durations.
